Bunny Nuzzles (RotG fanfiction)

It was a nice cold middle-winter morning, and it was everything but peaceful and quiet in the woods around the frozen lake in Burges…

"Jack Frost!" called the voice with Australian accent. "…you're so dead!" he threatened the winter spirit he wasn't able to find already. "…you'll see, when I get you…!" And he kept like that, looking behind every piece of snow, frozen object, etc. E. Astern was pissed.

That morning he woke up waiting willing to find some of the eggs around him and waiting to be painted or something. Instead, once he opened his eyes, he found them sticked to the wall in some kind of frozen prison writing the word: "KANGAROO"

"Maybe you can run, but not hide!" said still trying to intimidate the un-found white-haired trickster. So concentrated in the chasing was the rabbit, that he never really noticed the sudden appearance of a blond hair from behind some tree.

"…dang frozen…" he kept mumbling to himself " now that trickster will see…. Once I get my hands on him…!"

"Hi Bunny!" suddenly yelled a familiar voice behind him that almost made him fall on surprise. He turned around to find Sophie hiding her hands behind her back and smiling widely. She was wearing purple pants and a big pink jacket along with a rainbow-colored scarf.

"Oh! Hi Sophie…" greeted back the tall pooka. It was about to be a year since he last saw her. "Ho've you been, mate?"

"Hm… fine, a little busy with school… the new teacher sucks!"  Bunny chuckled a little with the little-one's response.

"Oh, I'm sure you just need a little lift to make her your friend…" after a little pause he continued "Are you going egg-hunting this year?" That year she would turn thirteen, and he was wondering if she would be collecting eggs as every year. He sighed in his mind. Just seeing her made him wish to be back in the warren sooner to continue his work… which also… reminded him why he was out. "-Oh! By the way… have you seen Jack?" he asked still glaring from the left to the right, as if the white-haired-one was about to throw a snowball in any minute.

"Hm… are you mad because of the frozen eggs?" She asked.

"How do you know about my eggs being frozen—hey!! Wait a minute, did you…?"

"I didn't told him to do so! I swear!" She hurried to say "… I just asked him how to bring you out here and he told me you would only come out if you were angry at him and… and… and he said he would take care of it!" Wow! That was certainly something he didn't expected…

"Why did you want me to come?" he asked a little bit more confused than he already was before.

"I…" she started a little shyly but still smiling "…there's something I have for you" Bunnymund looked at her suspiciously.

"Are you sure it's not something that could wait to be delivered until Eastern?" not losing the smile, she shook her head a little

"Okay…" he resignedly gave up "…what is it then little ankle-bitter buddy?" he questioned, stooping a little to see her in the eye.

"First, close your eyes" She ordered with a naughty smile. E. Astern grinned as he obeyed that order, it was common for him to receive little souvenirs from Sophie since the eastern after she got into his Warren, he had now collected little crafts, and drawings of him signed by Sophie followed by her age and things like that or even some toy of hers. The last time, she had given him a bracelet she made with some little seashells she found in her family's last trip to the beach.

Still with those memories flashing in his mind and wondering what this little surprise from her could be… He suddenly felt something warm pressing against his face… like… a nuzzle… over his lips?

Still not believing what just happened, he opened his eyes finding Sophie closer to him than before, and maybe the question was all over his face, because she giggled at his puzzled expression before explaining:

"All the girls from my school were talking about their first kiss… and It kind of made me want mine as soon as possible… I told Jack and he said I shouldn't rush it… but that if I was planning on doing it I should choose wisely who would I giving it to…" she explained in a low calm voice with a little blush on her cheeks. "…so, I choose you!"

Bunny was frozen, shocked and moved at the same time. Frozen for the surprised, shocked for the fact that little Sophie had kissed him, and moved for she had chosen him for her first kiss…

Meanwhile, not too far, but from the right distance to spy but not to be seen, Jack had been watching the two of them. He too had thought it would be some of Sophie's surprises for the pooka, but never thought of this. And  now that he was thinking about it… Sophie interpreted his advice in her way… He knew some people's first kisses were memorable, that's what he meant… but well… at least she listened… he stopped musing over nothing, just to smile and say to himself.

"…wise decision, Soph."
